Contact Improvisation:    Waiting list only now.
Principles and Practice      Contact the registrar.
Photo: Jonathan Hsu"Enliven your CI physical intelligence and emotional resonance through guided practice."

This workshop is designed for people wanting to seriously advance their CI practice, dancers who regularly participate in the form.

The material will be challenging:
Less skill-based and more principle-based, therefore the work will be appropriate for a range of experience levels.

The workshop requires at least Advanced Beginner* level of CI experience.

Chris and Angie: "Our goal is to help dancers deepen their understanding of the core principles of CI and to become inspired through the interplay of touch, movement and imagination.  Our practice is founded on the belief that CI is most powerful when participants share a sense of trust, curiosity and mutual respect."

BOUNDARIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

Consent and Touch: As always, participants have free agency to engage in any part of this workshop to their own degree of comfort. Dancers will be invited to partner-up and practice the form in-contact.  You have the option to choose (or choose not) to engage in any exercise or partnership, also to end any interaction at any time.

* What is: "Advanced Beginner" experience in CI?
A metric for this might be: You have attended classes or jams and have gained a good sense of how to share and listen to weight, both your own and a partner's. You have some experience with disorientation in space.

Contact the registrar if you have questions about either of these.

COVID CONSIDERATIONS:

Contact Improv Boston does not require participants to wear masks or provide proof of vaccination.  This is optional at the choice of each dancer.

Please be mindful of your activities particularly in the week before the workshop and get tested in the 24 hours before the workshop, if possible.

Do not attend if you tested positive for Covid in the last 24hrs (even without symptoms), or if you are feeling any potential Covid symptoms, or if you have been in contact with somebody with Covid symptoms in the last 48 hrs.
You must notify the registrar in order to receive a refund.

See full cancellation policy, below.

OUT-OF-TOWNERS:

If you live outside of the local area you are welcome to attend this workshop. However, unlike some past events, CIB cannot be responsible to organize overnight accommodations for you.  Please contact your personal Boston area friends, if you need help staying overnight.

Covid is still with us and different people have different comfort levels - hosts and guests might have different goals. The event organizers decided that the complexity of making such arrangements was too great a responsibility.
