Losing & Finding:
Studies in Play
• We will spend time working on specific pathways and coordinations that focus on testing weight, challenging orientation, and falling through space.
• We will workshop the blurred lines between leading and following roles in partner, trio, group dancing.
• We will celebrate the physical exertion that comes with long practice sessions.

This an *Intermediate Level* workshop, designed for dancers who seriously strive to advance their CI practice and regularly participate in the form.

A metric for *Intermediate Level* might be:
You have attended CI classes and jams, and have gained a solid sense of how to share and listen to weight, both your own and a partner's. You have some experience with disorientation in space. You have a falling practice that balances safety and risk.

Online registration is closed for this event, but we might have a space if one of our currently registered members cancels. Contact the registrar if you are interested in joining a wait list. registrations@contactimprovboston.com

A MESSAGE FROM THE TEACHER:

Paul Singh sez: "My hope for the weekend is to create an environment that values comfort and discomfort equally - a place that helps everyone find their personal physical edges, and continue to explore them with the shared knowledge in the room. We’ll call on our eye contact, voices, and intuition to help move past expectation and ambition, and instead into curiosity and daring."

As a student and teacher, Paul Singh uses his innate sense of spatial awareness to explore more deeply the ideas of being grounded, becoming softer, and forgetting the difference between up and down.

OUT-OF-TOWNERS:

Covid is still with us and different people have different comfort levels - hosts and guests might have different goals. The event organizers decided that the complexity of making such arrangements was too great a responsibility.

Contact Improv Boston does not require participants to wear masks or provide proof of vaccination.  This is optional at the choice of each dancer.

Please be mindful of your activities particularly in the week before the workshop and get tested in the 24 hours before the workshop, if possible.

Do not attend if you tested positive for Covid in the last 24hrs (even without symptoms), or if you are feeling any potential Covid symptoms, or if you have been in contact with somebody with Covid symptoms in the last 48 hrs.
You must notify the registrar in order to receive a refund.
