COSTS AND REGISTRATION:

On-line Discount Pricing (available only for full jam):
(On-line registration closes, midnight, May 22nd
♦ $125 - Regular rate - Employed (including self-employed). That is, most of us.
♦ $105 - Student Rate - Full-time student or those unemployed
♦ $145 - Professional rate - Please pay this rate, if you can.
♦ $160 - Supporting the Arts!

Full Jam (At the door):
$150 - Regular rate (that is, most of us)    Sliding scale $120-190

À la carte bits and pieces of the May Jam (available only at the door):
Friday Night Jam only, $15 ($10-20, sliding scale)
Saturday Daytime, only - Jamming & food: $65 (sliding scale, 49-70)
Saturday evening Dance and Music Improv Jam, only - $20 ($15-25, sliding scale)
Sunday Daytime only - Jamming & food: $65 (sliding scale, 49-70)


Financial aid and Scholarship donations:

To Apply: If the lowest level of our sliding scale is too expensive for you, we offer a limited number of applicants $25 off their fee on a first-come-first-served basis. Apply on the registration form.

To Donate: Please give, even a little, to the Scholarship Fund. Your support enables more dancers to attend CIB events. Indicate your donation on the form as you register.  


Work Exchange:

We have a limited number of positions available enabling dancers to save up to one half of their jam registration fee.  Some are appropriate only for local dancers; some make sense for anyone. Contact the Work exchange (WEX) coordinator, to be considered.

HOUSING AND OUT-OF-TOWNERS:

Out-of-towners: You are welcome - come one, come all! We can help you with housing here in the homes of local dancers. Please pre-register and indicate you need housing; we'll work it out for you.

Locals: Please open your guest bedroom, extra couch, floorspace, etc, to our May Jam visitors. We need the space and it builds the community.  Also, it's fun to get a little closer to dancers from afar.

Cambridge Masonic Hall, 1950 Mass. Ave, Cambridge, MA (Porter Square) 

Public transport: Right across the street from the Porter Sq stop on the MBTA Red Line.

By car: Park on far side of the lot behind 2067 Mass Ave (across the street, north 3 blocks)
From the north, turn left on Russel Street and enter the parking lot from there.

ARTISTS BIOS: 
Photo by Joshua ZeldnerDaniel Bear Davis has been teaching and dancing CI and improvisational composition for over half his life. He utilizes the form as personal practice as well as in the creation of performance work. His teaching has been greatly influenced by The Axis Syllabus (which he teaches). His approach to CI is one of constant research into the expansion of range and choice. He also has been taking Contact Improv to new heights with its application to acrobatic stilts in collaboration with Kristen Greco and The Carpetbag Brigade. 

Daniel has taught internationally in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and throughout North America. He has performed on submarines, desert rocks, construction scaffolding, and art galleries. He’s made pieces about dementia, gender, war, heritage, identity. He cares about image, awe, and beauty. In creating a wide and rich acceptance of what it is to be human. He has been blessed with opportunities to perform with Nancy Stark Smith, Nita Little, Scott Wells, Guillermo Gomez Peña, Kira Kirsch, The Body Cartography Project, Live Art Installations, Felix Ruckert, Erika Tsimbrovsky, Caro Novella, and many other inspiring body/minds.

 Stan Strickland Singer, saxophonist, flutist, actor, Stan Strickland has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, New Zealand and the former Soviet Union. He has performed with the Boston Pops, Take Six, the Village People, Aretha Franklin, and  jazz greats Yusef Lateef, Pharoah Sanders, Shirley Scott and Herbie Mann, and opened for Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and The Bare Naked Ladies.  He has work with many local dancers and choreographers as well as members of the Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon and Bill T Jones dance companies.  

Stan is an associate professor of voice at Berklee College of Music and Co-Executive Director of Express Yourself, a multi-cultural arts agency that serves mentally ill youth through the Department of Mental Health. Stan's one-man show, Coming Up For Air, An auto-jazzography received the prestigious Eliot Norton Award in theatre for best solo performance. 



THE FINE PRINT:  

Regarding product sales at the May Jam:
If you have items of interest to contact improv dancers (generally clothing) that you would like to sell at CIB events, please contact the organizers in advance.  We have limited space available for vendors, and may not be able to say yes to everyone, so it is important you let us know well ahead of time.

Cancelation Policy:
 •   If the whole event is canceled, we will refund the entire registration fee of pre-registered participants.  If we cancel an event part-way through, we will pro-rate that refund.
•   If a registered participant withdraws from an event more than two weeks before the event, we will fully refund their registration fee, minus a $10 administration fee.
•   If a registered participant withdraws less than two weeks before the event, no refund will be issued.  Also applies to no-show, (but please let us know so we can plan better.)
•   We will consider hardship situations for refunds before and during the event.  Please contact the registrar.
