transformations in motion
with Alessandro Rivellino
and Sarah Konner
In the practice, small flickerings of attention flow seamlessly with the rhythm of falling, deepening the connection to the body's space and time.
For us, these slightest movements are intertwined with the heartbeat, breath, and gravity; embodying the transient nature of life and movement. We play with the body and space as extensions of one another, navigating the musicality of time unfolding.
Our proposal lies in the interplay of time, space, and embodiment. There, the senses, attention, and consciousness are pieces of the whole. We give agency to the dance, the point of contact, and our attention moves through body, earth, and space; continually finding an everchanging middle of the middle.
Dancing with depth and lightness, we step into the unknown, letting the path emerge through soft quiet unfamiliarity. A study of mutuality in movement and expansive attention. Patience, experimentation, and playful challenges guide us, and the path emerges through awareness and surrender.
This is an open level Contact Improvisation workshop.
Previous experience in CI is recommended.
The material will be challenging and principle-based rather than purely skill-driven, making it accessible and meaningful across a range of experience levels.
