Before the Jam Classes, 2016

 Olivier Besson: November and December

 Teaching: Tuesdays
November 8, 15, 22, 29 and
December 13

Class, 6:30-8pm
(Jam, 8-10pm)

 Olivier on Contact Improv:
Contact Improvisation (CI) started as a means to explore the physical forces imposed on the body by gravity and by the physics of momentum. It is a research oriented approach to discovering one’s movement potential through improvisation. The technical work centers on kinesthetics rather than aesthetics. We study how the body/mind connection works and how to direct the body to give and receive. We use perceptions to rediscover how we move and are moved. The aim is to cultivate a clarity of intention in the act of improvising.

This class is open to all moving bodies and curious minds. It is appropriate for both beginners, first learning about the form, and those who wish to deepen their practice of vibrant presence-in-motion.
