Tuesday Jam

Cancellations: There will be no Tuesday Jam on 8/17 or 8/25.
When: Every Tuesday from 8pm to 10pm
(We start at 7:30 on the first Tuesday
of each month.)
Where: Masonic Hall at 1950 Mass. Ave, Cambridge.
Cost: $8 - $12 (sliding scale)
Before the open dancing, the evening usually starts with a brief check-in circle, then a led warmup. The facilitator will often give the evening a focus or theme, and sometimes will lead a structure for the end of the dancing period. We finish with a quick circle to share our experiences and make announcements.
The Jam is facilitated by Gene Broadway, Neige Christenson, Patrick Crowley, Martin Keogh, and Dey Summer.

New feature for 2010: The first week of each month we add a half-hour and begin at 7:30 with an extra-long warm-up and focus on fundamental skills. Come at 7:30 to participate in the "class" or arrive anytime to do your own warm-up. At 8:30 we'll have a brief opening circle, but no additional led warm-up. This is a great way to introduce a newcomer to the jam!
Focus jams: once a month we hold a "focus" jam with a particular theme to explore. On those nights we allow a little extra time for our closing circle to "harvest" our thoughts and images. Look for the theme announcement on the CIB listserv each month.
Also watch the e-mail list for special announcements about "Fifth Tuesday" jams ... we try to do something a little out of the ordinary when there are five Tuesdays in a month!
