Inside Momentum
Through careful witnessing, tracking, and committed embodiment, we discover the language we share with other dancers. From this discovery, an infinite game or flow is born.

Class description:  There is a particular world we can inhabit together that comes from understanding and encouraging momentum and centrifugal force. The foundational skills of CI help us hone our attention, anticipation, and timing so we are prepared to play with momentum.

Brando says:  We will start our time together with shared bodywork and movement, luxuriating in our time with the floor - utilizing this part of the practice as a foundation for nuanced unfolding communication and palpable connection into the core. Nourishing cellular connections will pave the way for trust in higher velocities.

Jeremy says:  We'll warm up individually and with partners, to prepare the mind and body for improvisation. We'll explore different ways to make our bodies and spines softer and more receptive to impulse, through partnering and also solo movement. Between exercises, we'll have the opportunity to briefly share insights and reflections with the larger group.

This class is open to all moving bodies and curious minds. It is appropriate for both beginners, first learning about the form, and those who wish to deepen their practice of vibrant presence-in-motion.

Time: Class starts promptly at 6:30, end at 8 pm. (followed by weekly Contact Jam.)
