Before the Jam Classes 2014

Neige Christenson: Teaching October 14, 21, 28

Listening Deeply, Speaking Clearly

© Jun Akiyama Class Description: As we learn to listen deeply through our bodies, we can explore the possibilities of ease and effortlessness, giving and receiving weight, leading and following, playing with gravity and momentum, in solo movement as well as in relationship to our partners. Special emphasis will be given to exploring the beauty of personal boundaries within the dance. How can we be most clear when we offer invitations within the dance, and most honest when we accept or decline these invitations? We practice this honesty in service of the mutual discovery of a uniquely evolving physical conversation with our partners. This class is for both complete beginners curious about the form and those who wish to deepen their practice of vibrant presence-in-motion.
